Company/ Commercial
Partner and associates of Jurisconsultus have substantial experience in the full range of corporate transactions from business start-up to public company flattens on the Stock Exchange. We advise on mergers and
acquisitions, corporate finance securities transactions and banking laws.
General Commercial Work
The firm advises on a very wide range of commercial agreements in various business sections. Specialist areas include production sharing and operation agreements other than distribution, agency,
partnership, licensing and royalty agreements.
Insolvency and Restructuring
We advise in relation to corporate restructuring and refinancing which frequently include transactions involving hive-downs and asset sales by, for example, receivers or liquidators. Contentions elements
relating to insolvency are dealt within close liaison with the litigation department.
Taxation
From the outset of a transaction, the firm will advise on the potential consequences of taxation. Frequently, tax advice is given in connection with share purchase agreements, joint venture agreements,
reorganizations and takeovers. We liaise closely where required with our clients overseas dvisers so as to achieve the optimum solution.
Litigation
The litigation department does not limit itself to pursuing or defending claims. The objective is to provide a commercially based service which responds to the requirements of the client. In today’s
business world, the demand for rapid settlement of disputes has become more intense. The department is able to respond to these needs in a number of ways such as seeking injunctive relief, settling disputes
without proceedings, taking proceedings in order to negotiate a settlement or considering other methods of dispute resolution.
Commercial Dispute; Pakistani and Overseas Law
The firm’s substantial overseas clientele and the regular negotiation of contract and resolution of disputes outside the Pakistan gives us wide experience in dealing with other legal jurisdictions
and in advising on international issues of law.
Employment
Jurisconsultus provides advice in respect of contentious and on-contentious matters. In addition to wrongful or unfair dismissal and redundancy claims, the firm advises on matters such as misuse of
confidential information restrictive covenants in contracts of employment, the drafting of service agreements, sexual discrimination and unfair Constitution.
